#expressions

L

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend an awesome workshop conducted by an amazing quilter Shruti rohit dandekar at KAPA studio owned by Kausalya pandit. When I first saw the abstract expression potrait done by Shruti I never thought that I will make one some day,but when you have shruti as a teacher you can do anything .....she make everything so easy.
So I enrolled in this two days workshop n am happy that I did it.It was an awesome experience and we all learnt a lot in those two days.we started with making an outline which I managed fine

Then we started filling colours which was fun.We were like kids filling colours
Once done we started quilting it.
By now I was excited to finish it.once quilted we did the binding with a new technique(taught by our awesome teacher)
Here is the finished potrait I am holding n beside me is the original one by Shruti.
Now that I did this ,I am confident  to make a bigger one soon:)

#HST.....just love them

#IQG has announced a contest on occasion of National Quilting Day...The theme was MODERN.
So I had thousands of ideas running in my mind and as ususal the last day was almost there and I was nowhere near selecting a project (actually had one but was confused if that will come under 'modern' )°so on the safe side wanted to enter another project along with it.
Then comes my favourite HST's to my rescue:)... And TADA here it is a cushoincover with Half square triangles in Solids.I am in love with it.I made it on my #bernina and quilted with #BSR .The thread I have used is #aurifil
