Getting started

When i learnt sewing i never knew i am going to be quilting some day ...I learnt to sew blouses n kurtis n stitched a few but was not so interested in it.Got married n sewing took a back stage...when I was expecting my first one I again started to sew but just did basic blankets n nappies .......again after my daughter was born all I sew was lil frocks for her n some basic cushions....I was more into fabric painting at that time so did a few sarees n cushions.
Then we moved to singapore ....and there I got hooked to my sewing machine once again.I accidently entered a quilt shop there n was so fascinated by the magic created with bits n pieces..( till then I never heard of patchwork quilting). I was so impressed that I enrolled in a quilting class there n Bridget from Quilt n friends became my teacher n guide and what n excellent teacher she was..I learnt basics of quilting n tips n tricks n everything from her n did my first quilt which was a sampler quilt.
There was no looking back since then.... Now am back to India and here I met a few excellent quilters n now we are like a family inspiring, helping n guiding each other.....

The road not taken

Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

So said Robert Frost! Personally for me, it would be the path of quilting ...

At the age of  20 whenI first started to sew it was rather a hobby and has caught my fancy since then. On and off I have been sewing since the last 15 years and now as I embark upon the journey to document my progress in the sewing world, quilting, bag and pouch making and all that there is to the creative sewing world, I would like to invite you to join my journey down the rabbit hole.

I will post my learning experience with you here on this blog :)
